The Indiana School For the Deaf, Dixon House

- Michael Conly of Architura Corporation was honored by (ICMA) Indiana Concrete Masonry Association with the 2006 "Award of Excellence in Residential Clay Design" for his architectural design of the Indiana School For the Deaf, Dixon House.
- Michael Conly accepted the award along with Tom Coulter, Director of Indiana Public Works - Department of Administration at the Marriott Downtown awards ceremony on January 18th, 2006.
- Congratulations to Mike Conly and Architura for creating the award winning Dixon House design, whose architectural style linked the Indiana School for the Deaf historic campus with the beautiful compliment of a new and simple residential clay building design.
- The design style of the Dixon House is accomplished by a simple brick structure that incorporates the architectural elegance of the beautiful historic dormitory structure into the entrance porch of the Dixon House. The stone inserts, columns and keystone of the historic building were designed to fit into a beautiful new brick arched Palladian style entrance. The elegance arch of the exterior extends to the interior in the vaulted central ceiling of the living areas.

Mike Conly - One of Indy's most talented architects
We recently we completed the study and master plan for The Owen County Courthouse renovation that is expected to move forward with design. It included full government and space analysis as well as phase implementation . This in-depth look at the inhabitants of the courthouse determined which offices actually needed to be in the main courthouse for better functionality and provided suggestions that other offices would better benefit from a move to the new annex building that was planned to be placed next to the courthouse and designed to complement its look and feel.
Architura’s extensive experiences can also be realized by our work with GSA (General Services Administration) as we are in the second renewal of our five year contracts. Specific design and construction administration work for GSA includes projects at The South Bend Courthouse, The E. Ross Adair Federal Courthouse in Fort Wayne, The Birch Bayh Federal Building Courthouse in Indianapolis, The Terre Haute USPO & Federal, and The Lee Hamilton Federal Courthouse in New Albany Indiana.
Architura’s commitment to historic restoration and adaptive re-use projects is substantiated by our award-winning design record, extensive experience in this project type, and our satisfied clients. We compliment our experienced architectural and interior design team with a fully knowledgeable team of supporting civil, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers to provide services for a given project.
